Something for the Boys…
As my original blog on tumblr started picking up speed and people’s fashion queries were coming through on the daily, I had a number of enquires about men’s fashion, products and styling in general. It was then that I realized how much more challenging it must be for teen guys! There are very few sources providing guidance for teen guys or helping and inspiring them to develop their own sense of style.
Men’s fashion is an extremely underrated goldmine, filled with designers who are pushing stereotypical boundaries and creating awe-striking garments of art. And I am lucky enough to say that I know this because I have experienced it first hand and in the front row of Cape Towns Men’s Fashion Week in February, courtesy of MAC Cosmetics, as well as in July while I was interning backstage with DAF Academy. The second greatest thing about men’s fashion is how designers are moving toward more gender-fluid styles and garments, and really embracing the whole human entity instead of being constricted by gender divisions.
Daniel Wellington and I have collaborated once again to bring you: A Spring feature on the most important accessory for both male and female – the elegant watch.
Navy and white was the colour scheme of choice because it has a fresh and neutral feel to it. Blue is not a “boys colour” and white is not reserved for the conservative. I had a lot of fun shooting with a good friend and incredible athlete/vlogger, Jamie Riddle, and felt like an absolute grunge princess in my lovely velvet dress from Lovely Musthaves.
This feature shows how your Daniel Wellington watch just adds the elegant touch that is needed to spice up your look. Girls, this Classic White Bondi is the perfect accessory to go for for an everyday classy appeal and boys, while I am still working on doing a men’s fashion editorial feature, here are some really fantastic male bloggers to check out so long:
- Brian Sacawa – He Spoke Style
- Justin Livingston – Scout Sixteen
- Adam Gallagher – I am Galla
- Pelayo Diaz – Kate Loves Me
- Trevor Stuurman – Stuurman Style Diary
- Joey Clough – Joey London
- Cristian Kimber
- Wayne Parnell – Parnygram
So there you have it! I hope you enjoyed the something-a-lil-different and thank you to the incredible Daniel Wellington for the gorgeous products.
